You must be asking yourself, "What is the Gamers Guild?"
Great question!
The Gamers Guild is a federally registered non-profit corporate entity that is the administrative, organizational, and managerial section of the Gamers Guild Organization as a whole. Its purpose and primary goal is provide structure, financing, and needed expertise in multiple areas of both business and administration for the sub-sections of the Gamers Guild Organization.
Its mission is twofold and each is of equal importance. First, to introduce non-game players to the various hobbies that fall under the umbrella name of "game" or "hobby" and bring back previous game players back into the hobby. These are games that are played in a socially acceptable environment whose sole purpose is the fun and enjoyment of all of the participants. Second, to further the education and intellectual growth of individuals who engage in these hobbies through gameplay, education and learning, sponsorship, fund-raising, events, and of course social interaction.
As well, The Gamers Guild provides support to various charities through its fund raising endeavors and events.
The Gamers Guild Organization has two separate sub-sections or groups that handle local or more far flung game playing groups and individuals. It is in essence both a real face-to-face type games club and what we call a "virtual games club" (i.e. online) for all those who enjoy playing games and getting together to socialize around the game-table and play. These two sub-sections are unique and each has its own distinct responsibilities within our organization. These sub-sections are the International Gamers Guild and the Montreal Gamers Guild.
"What is the International Gamers Guild?"
The International Gamers Guild is a non-profit organization interested in seeing that all game players have a safe and enjoyable place to meet, socialize around the game table, play, and have fun. To this end we are presently developing a virtual environment that will be freely available to all to use and be a part of; if you think you would like to contribute to its creation and expression then please contact us through this website's Contact Us form below. As well that all game developers and game creators get the recognition that they deserve (this is why we created an award for the game industry and fans alike) and access to groups of fans for their games and expressions of creativity.
The International Gamers Guild is mandated to do the following:
- Provide a virtual meeting place for game players who are not located near other game players or any sizable game playing community to satisfy the need to socialize and play games.
- Provide a club structure for game players who are located in areas that have none at all and provide possible events for interaction and the opportunity to socialize amongst others who share their interests in gameplay too.
- Provide a multilingual environment for game players. At the moment we can play in English, French, and Spanish. We would like to expand our language support to include other languages as well and welcome inquiries by other language game players.
- Promote games and the game hobby through whatever legal means are available, such as shows, events, contests, sponsorships, mentorships, game design workshops, and of course awards (see The Gaming Genius Awards).
The Montreal Gamers Guild is a non-profit organization interested in fostering, encouraging, and supporting games and gameplay across the Island of Montreal and beyond. The MGG seeks to provide a game club that serves the interests of game players, whatever their tastes in games are, what interests them, and their level of game experience. We (in the MGG) understand the limited amount of time available everyone has to play games and the constraints on a game player's free time imposed by work and family.
The Montreal Gamers Guild is mandated to do the following:
- Provide a meeting place for game players and club members seeking a friendly and sociable game playing community.
- Provide a club structure for game players and club members where they can join in events, share interests, and get together for all sorts of different games.
- Provide a multilingual environment for game players. At the moment we can play in English, French, and Spanish. We would like to expand our language support to include other languages as well and welcome inquiries by other language game players.
- Promote games and the game hobby through whatever legal means are available, such as shows, events, contests, sponsorships, mentorships, game design workshops, movie nights, and seminars.
The Montreal Gamers Guild, The Gamers Guild, and the International Gamers Guild are here for all the fans of any of the hobbies listed below (obviously they are listed in no particular order of importance since all have equal importance to the game enthusiast):
- Roleplaying games (RPGs).
- Sophisticated Board Games (aka "German Games" or "Eurogames").

- Collectible Card Games (CCGs).

The Montreal Gamers Guild, the International Gamers Guild, and the Gamers Guild are non-profit organizations. These clubs are open to gamers of all kinds and we are not tied to any retailer or other commercial interest.
